Factory GM programming for a compatible repair

A replacement control module often needs vehicle-specific software, configuration or a setup procedure before it works correctly. Austin Key Pro uses GM factory service software to perform available programming and setup procedures on supported GM vehicles. We check the VIN, module part number and repair requirements before scheduling.

Work may include ECM/PCM, TCM and BCM programming, replacement module setup, available GM calibration updates and related relearn procedures when required by the repair. The exact procedure depends on the model year, module, software availability and vehicle condition.

When to contact us

Programming or cloning?

Factory programming installs an available GM calibration or runs a specified setup procedure. Module cloning transfers supported data from an original unit. A used module may require a different approach, and some used modules cannot be programmed for another vehicle. We review the module before recommending the service.

Request a compatibility review

Text the year, model, VIN, symptoms and clear photos of the original and replacement module labels to (737) 368-8490. Tell us whether the replacement is new or used and whether the vehicle is available for testing. We will confirm the applicable procedure and quote before booking.

Service is available by arrangement in Austin and nearby areas, including Round Rock, Cedar Park, Pflugerville, Georgetown, Kyle, Buda and San Marcos. Vehicle availability, compatible hardware and GM requirements determine the work we can perform.

GM programming questions

Can you program a used GM module?

It depends on the module and vehicle. Some used units retain vehicle-specific information or have programming restrictions. Send both part numbers before buying or installing a replacement.

Do you use GM factory service software?

Yes. We use GM factory service software for supported programming and setup procedures. We are an independent automotive service provider, not a GM dealership.

Do you offer other GM electronics services?

Yes, for supported vehicles. Contact us with your vehicle details to ask about other services. We confirm vehicle information and ownership for security-related work.
